Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Pupusa: Super authentic, 3 bucks for one

Have you ever had a pupusa though?

As a San Diegan, the answer is always Surf n Turf Burrito.

Or maybe Lucha Libre’s Surfin’ California Burrito.

Or the simply epic carne asada fries from Vallarta Express.

Fuck. I’m really hungry now.

Pupusa, bro. I’d kill for one right about now.

In fact, I might do that tonight.

If you’re going to do a burrito, straight up carne asada is where it is at.

If you want something unusual, try the Cochinita Pibil at Ranas out in Spring Valley. Weird location, delicious food. Highly rated on Yelp, in fact.

I say pupusas, because I love any and all forms of corn cake type things like that. Sopes, huaraches, arepas, pupusas, etc.

Lucha Libre does have a good surf and turf, but I live in North County.

I have never heard of Vallarta Express...

A real San Diegan would start with the California burrito. ;-)

As a side note: What’s with all the crap people keep putting in burritos that are not burrito filling? Damned San Franciscans are taking over.

Oh man, you are making me really miss the South West, we don’t get food like that in Portland.

Por que no los dos?

Where can I find these in town?

You should try my buddy’s restaurant, Palominos, in the Clairemont mesa area (the one with the great salsa bar, which they don’t have at the other locations). Portions are huge, cheap, and all the ingredients are fresh.

If I eat all that, it’s a LOT of working out.

Will do. San Diego has ridiculously good Mexican food.

They both look pretty good. Never tried them before. Maybe go with two Pupusas or something.

As for the San Franciscans....yeah okay I grew up there. I swear to you, Silicon Valley has REALLY messed with housing prices back home :(

I was going by the choices given. I do prefer the California burrito. I eat them far too often..

Always pupusa, man. Good burritos are a dime a dozen, good pupusas are worth going out of the way for.

I feel every San Diegan prefers them. For some reason I prefer the classic carne asada, personally, but they do hit the spot.

Readily available taco shop food is one of the things I miss the most not living there anymore.

I get carne asada from time to time too. But there’s just something magical about the combination of fries, steak, sour cream, cheese, guac, etc...

Dammit. I know what I’m picking up in an hour..
